As I am writing, I have no idea of what is going to happen to me next. I have been convocated at the police for separating a fight between a husband and wife. It all started when I heard my neighbor’s wife shouting and disturbing the neighborhood, I could not help but get to the scene to know what the matter was.

Once there, I realized with sadness that the wife was engaged in a deadly fight with the husband. I went into action and separated them; the woman was bleeding all over her injuries on a major part of her face.

The husband was swearing he will rip my throat when he gets hold of me. Despising such a bully, and with the help of the other neighbors, I rushed the wife to hospital (the person who needed help the most). She was in the hospital for two days and latter, I was told that the fight started when the wife caught her husband red-handed in their matrimonial bed committing adultery- he was having sex with another woman.

Come to think of it, this man boldly serves me with a convocation from the police. Funny how he is planning to do all so that I am put behind bars for involving myself in his ‘marital affairs’. I have prepared a good file for him, it’s not the first time I have witnessed such inhuman acts inflicted on women in my area. Some time back, a man had the wife seriously beaten because she visited her elder brother without his consent, earlier on, there had been an incident where a man got the wife beaten for accepting a gift of 100 USD from a high school class mate (male).

This present case has only fired the desire in me to put an end to this molestation of women in my area. I would fight tooth and nails to get the abuse of women’s rights become history by the belligerent husbands swarming the neighborhood.
